Pay: $18–$21/hour (up to $25/hour based on experience once cross trained)
Shifts: 2 openings for Day Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM AND 2 openings for Afternoon Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 12:30 AM
(Afternoon shift will require 2–3 weeks of day shift training)
We are recruiting skilled & experienced Machine Operators on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company in the Hamilton area. This company specializes in producing high-quality brushes and related products, serving both industrial and commercial clients. Our ideal people live local to Hamilton ON, have 5+ yrs experience running technical, manual and semi automated machines in a production environment and have completed a Technical education program.
Reporting to the Production Lead, the Operator is responsible for maintaining machine uptime, minimizing scrap, and ensuring customer orders are completed on time. This role involves operating and maintaining production equipment (specialized machines used in brush making), performing tooling changeovers, completing documentation, and contributing to a safe, team-oriented work environment.
Operate work center equipment safely and efficiently
Perform tooling changeovers, program changes, and setups
Conduct and assist with preventative maintenance and minor repairs
Complete production logs and work orders (material usage, downtime, etc.)
Meet production targets and report issues or delays promptly
Participate in physical inventories and department meetings
Perform and document quality assurance checks on all products
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Support scheduling efficiencies and continuous improvement
Follow all plant policies and safety procedures
Actively contribute to a positive team environment
Education; Technical diploma or higher (in a related or mechanical field)
Minimum 5+ years as a Machine Operator
Local to Hamilton
Experience with:
Presses, lathes, SAS machines, trimmers, or hot stampers
Manual, semi-automatic machine experience
Pneumatic and hydraulic systems experience highly transferrable
Flywheels, PLCs, and HMIs
Experience in brush making or similar manufacturing environments is an asset; Strip brush machines (double band), flat wire, or synthetic segment machinery
