REPORTS TO:  Supply Chain Manager

OVERVIEW: 

The Shipping Lead role will coordinate the shipment and receiving of all products at Felton Brushes Ltd.  This includes finished goods, resale items, raw materials, and plant consumables. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead shipping teams to accomplish on-time delivery
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of shipping team in preparing orders
  • Prioritize the daily shipping picks to effectively meet customer needs
  • Ensures the quality of finished goods in the shipping process
  • Communicate with, and support, the sales and shipping teams
  • Lead various projects: package bulk stock, reorganize parts shelves, physical counts
  • Prepare and complete necessary shipping paperwork and operational reports
  • Maintain accurate records of shift activities, personnel performance, and production metrics
  • Assist with handpicked orders from stock and assembles customer orders on pallets
  • Participates in regular cycle counts
  • Determine the method of shipment, and coordinate accordingly
  • Prepares bill of landings, custom forms, and other shipping documents manually or through ERP system
  • Coordinates the assembly containers and crates
  • Inspects, verifies, and receives into the ERP system, incoming goods against invoices or other documents
  • Operates a forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods
  • Reads production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
  • Provides coverage for Receiver as required

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years experience in shipping/receiving, warehousing and inventory control in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment; experience in LTL and domestic and international parcel shipping preferred
  • 1–3 years of supervisory or team-lead experience
  • Experience with counter balance forklifts, electric walkie and Raymond Reach vehicles
  • Experience with ERP/shipping systems and shipping documentation
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, drawings, and customer specifications
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment
  • Valid driver’s license

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Frequently stand, walk, use hands, talk and hear.
  • Lifting/carrying required 5-50 lbs.
  • Pushing/pulling 5-75 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting - above/below shoulder work
  • Frequent bending/stooping. Occasionally required to squat/kneel/rotate/twist/balance.
