Pay: $80,000 to $90,000 per year

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in business growth and development, this role is working closely with different departments on tracking and reporting operational performance to other stakeholders.  

Financial reporting, full cycle accounting, supervising, and maintaining all aspects of financial and operational information including accounting records are the prime functions of this role.  

The salary for this role is 80-90k. 

 

Main Responsibilities :

 

Monthly & Yearly reporting 

  • Process and maintain financial statements, completion of monthly Financial Statement package to owners. 
  • Maintain and update both yearend audit/review and business planning binders on a regular basis. 
  • Maintain month-end/year-end paperwork and assist preparation of inventory analysis as required.  
  • Complete monthly reconciliation of all accounts; GL reconciliations as required.  
  • Maintain filing to support bookkeeping and financial records.  
  • Processing Government remittances of HST (quarterly and monthly)  

 

Payroll Processing, reconciliation, and compliance reporting 

  • Calculate, prepare, and submit bi-weekly payroll, working with Ceridian software is an asset.  
  • Bi-Monthly Union Remittances to Carpenters Local  
  • Monthly evaluation and remittance of WSIB and company pension  
  • Benefits Administration  
  • Maintaining HR records.  
  •  Processing of Sales Commissions & Rebates  

  

Operational Reporting.  

  • Margin policing: Review, evaluate, and make recommendations on price and/or cost adjustments for loss-making products.  
  • Work with the production floor supervisor to track the manufacturing hangover and make recommendations to fix the gaps on labor and/or overhead recovery. 
  • Labor performance: Work with the continuous improvement team to track the labor performance and make recommendations to fix the performance matrix in GSS.  
  • Ad-hoc reporting: Assist Plant controller on the preparation of various analyses and ad-hoc reports as per business and/or management need.  

 

Supervisory Responsibilities :

KPI reporting 

  • Extracting relevant data from accounting software and adding that information to KPI template (Excel Spreadsheet) on a daily basis.  

 

Working Capital Management 

  • Bank Reconciliation  
  • Maintaining bank reconciliations on a daily basis for 4 bank accounts (2 USD and 2 CDN)  
  • Make sure to comply with the credit line approved limit.  
  • Manage working capital, payroll, and other payments through AR settlement.  
  • Any CAPEX payment is to be drawn from CAPEX-approved loans approved by our banking partners.  
  • Printing checks from the ERP system and creating wire/EFT templates on the bank portal for final approval by the CEO or another authorized signatory.  
  • Move funds from USD account to CDN account as and when needed.  
  • Accounts Receivable.  
  • Initiate discussions with customers regarding outstanding balances owed on account (maintenance of AR)  
  • Daily banking, deposits, and account management  
  • Accounts Payable.  
  • Processing of accounts payable/receivable including daily invoicing and the issuance of credits when applicable  
  • Oversee issuing of cheques/payment of invoices, through EFT, ACH, cheques, and Funds Transfer  
  • Credit card processing.  
  • Tracking, managing, and recording credit card spending to relevant expense accounts after due approval and processing the payments on the due date.
