Heavy Equipment Mechanic- Shop Technician 

Oakville-based dealer of industrial cranes, boom attachments and a manufacturer of heavy-duty forklift trucks customizable to their multi-industry clients. They are presently seeking a Shop Mechanic, Shop Technician to add to the team. Mainly an "in-shop" role with some fieldwork on occasion - as a small business there is a need to wear many hats.  

Duties & Responsibilities to include:

• Installing hydraulic hoses and fittings
• Align components for assembly, manually or with hoist, bolt, screw and rivet parts together using hand & power tools
• Inspect, operate, and test completed machines to verify functioning, machine capabilities or conformance to customer specifications
• Rework, repair, or replace damaged parts or assemblies
• Read and interpret assembly blueprints or specification manuals
• Fasten or install wiring, hydraulic, and electrical components to form assemblies
• Maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electric systems, and engines including diesel/gasoline/propane on high capacity forklifts and cranes
• Able to diagnose and troubleshoot fuel systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and propane systems
• Perform regular routine service, preventative maintenance
• Complete service documentation
• Perform safety inspections
• Maintain a safe/clean work environment and be flexible with changing priorities
• Tend to emergency service calls on equipment that has broken down in the field

Qualifications & Skills:

• Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Licensed with 5+ years experience
• Strong mechanical background including engines, electrical and hydraulic
• Computer diagnostic experience
• Solid understanding of schematics and diagrams
• Possess own tools, valid driver license, clean driver abstract
• Self-motivated team player, good attention to detail, integrity and initiative
